AndroGel (Testosterone Gel): What you need to know!

The recommended dose is 5g of gel applied once daily at about the same time, preferably in the morning.

Application:
You should only apply Androgel onto clean, dry, healthy skin over both shoulders, or both arms or abdomen.
After opening the sachets, the total contents must be extracted from the sachet and applied immediately onto the skin.
The gel has just to be simply spread on the skin gently as a thin layer.
It is not necessary to rub it on the skin.
Allow drying for at least 3 – 5 minutes before dressing.
Wash hands with soap and water after applications.
Interaction
In order to adjust the testosterone dose, your doctor will perform a blood test to check for testosterone concentration the first week after starting treatment .
The dose may be increased or reduced depending on blood test result.
Androgel may interaction with other medications .
Do tell your doctor if you have other medical problems (e.g : heart, liver or kidney problems) or you are taking any other medications (e.g blood thinners , steroids)
Androgen contains alcohol – So, if you are allergic to it; Do let your doctor know too!
Androgel is intended for use by men only.
It is not indicated women.
If your partner is a female, she must avoid any contact with Androgel application sites.
In the event of contact, wash with soap and water as soon as possible.

- Do not allow others to apply Androgel for you

- A shower is recommended before sex.
Does Androgel also help increase the size of the penis, along with longer lasting erections?
Androgen SHOULD NOT be applied to your genital area.
It works to increase your testosterone levels by absorption .

What is the effect if someone with normal testosterone levels takes Androgel?
The purpose of a testosterone replacement drug is to increase levels of testosterone in the body.
So, if you administered such a drug to someone with already normal levels, you would see level skyrocket! The effects could be severely unsatisfactory.
However, you doctor would will not advise you to take testosterone replacement if your levels are normal.
