Knee Osteoarthritis (OA)

The part of the body where two or more bones meet is called a joint. In the case of your knee, it’s the shine and thigh bones.

Knee Osteoarthritis (OA) is the most common form of arthritis and results usually from chronic degeneration, or “wear and tear”. The knee is one of the most common joints whereby this occurs. Symptoms usually include pain, swelling, stiffness and decreased range of motion.

Knee Osteoarthritis

Stiffness, pain, swelling and decreased range of motion are some of the common symptoms. This condition can severely reduce the quality of life for patients in the late stages. Radiology investigations can be conducted first to obtain an accurate diagnosis of Knee OA early, prior to starting treatment.

There are 2 main types of treatment, namely surgical and non-surgical options.

Non-surgical treatments include oral medications, Hydraluronic Acid injections (HA) and Lifestyle adjustments.

Plantar Fasciitis

Waking up to a sharp pain when you take your first few steps of the day?

Particularly, acute pain at the bottom of the heel? You might be having a condition known as the Plantar Fasciitis. It can be a very depressing condition to have as one might face hardships in their day-to-day life, keeping one away from their interests and games.

Treatment of Plantar Fasciitis to original health might take from anywhere like a few months to a year.

Palntar Fasciitis treatments are extracorporeal shock wave therapy (ESWT), oral medications and corticosteroid injections.

Trigger Finger

Trigger finger is a condition where one’s finger is unable to straighten due to severe pain felt over the base of the finger and on the palm area when one tries to do so.

Permanently bent fingers may be a result in some serious cases. Unknown to most, simple treatment like oral medications, splinting of the finger and corticosteroid injections could alleviate their symptoms significantly.

Knee Pain

Everyone is prone to experience knee pain, whether you are an Olympic champion or a desk-bound clerk with an inactive lifestyle, across all age groups. Knee injuries could be chronically developed or sustained as a consequence of an event such as soccer or rugby games.

Due to a myriad of causes for knee pain, an accurate diagnosis of the exact reason will yield a positive result in treatment. Treatment includes hyaluronic acid (HA) injections, corticosteroid injections, Extracorporeal shock wave therapy (ESWT) and oral medications.

De Quervain’s Tenosynovitis

De Quervain’s tenosynoviti i
s a condition often seen in women than men, when there is pain over thumb side of the wrist and may spread upwards to the forearm. In addition, one might experience difficulty moving the thumb and/or wrist and swelling over the affected area. People who use computer mouse intensively, or during pregnancy or waiters who regularly carry heavy bowls and plates are at higher risk. This is because of repeated pinching with the thumb.

Shoulder Pain

Shoulder Pain: The shoulder is the joint that is most susceptible to partial or full dislocation as it is the most unstable join in our bodies. As such, injuries such as rotator cuff tendonitis and tears can occur frequently. Like Knee Pain, an accurate diagnosis is required before applying the right treatment. Treatments available include extracorporeal shock wave therapy (ESWT), oral medications and corticosteroid injections.

Golfer / Tennis Elbow

Treatment for Golfer’s elbow & tennis elbow is straightforward – extracorporeal shock wave therapy (ESWT), corticosteroid injections or oral medications.

Golfer’s Elbow & tennis elbow is a condition of weakness in the wrist or hand and pain and stiffness felt over the outer elbow. Such symptom can happen to anyone whose job uses repetitive forearm and wrist use and not exclusive to golfer or people who plays tennis.

Remember, early accurate diagnosis will be a life saver from your unnecessary pain!
